CBT Triangle - Dr. Melissa Shepard demonstrates how to use the CBT triangle to think more critically about thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Teens have told us that the CBT triangle is one of the most useful tools they have gained so far. Dr. Shepard has 1.5M followers on TikTok and is faculty at Johns Hopkins.

Journaling - Dr. Brian Razzino gives advice on how to journal without overthinking it. Dr. Razzino has 650k followers on TikTok, where he is popular for videos discussing teen-parent relationships.

Black and White Thinking - Dr. Tasha Brown talks about a common cognitive distortion called “black and white thinking”. Our mentors have told us that this series on cognitive distortions has been a great springboard for deeper discussions with their teens. Dr. Brown is a licensed clinical psychologist and host of a podcast focused on youth psychology.

Restructuring a Negative Thought - Dr. Kristen Casey shows teens how to change a negative thought by questioning it. Dr. Casey excels at describing complicated processes in simple terms and has almost 200K followers on social media.

Mind-Reading - Tim Massaquoi, LPC, discusses another cognitive distortion called mind reading. Tim is a former NFL player and his down-to-earth style has been particularly engaging for the male teens in our program.
