Our 12-Week Program
In 12 weeks, your teen will meet with their mentor for weekly 1:1 video calls while learning how to improve their motivation, deal with unhelpful thoughts, and improve their confidence.
Your teen’s mentor will serve as a trusted listening ear, positive role model, and accountability partner.
Your teen’s mentor will also guide them through a video curriculum that teaches science-backed psychology skills. These bite-sized videos teach teens strategies to overcome anxiety, reduce procrastination, manage stress, and plan for the future.
30-minute video calls with a mentor on your teen’s schedule…
…and unlimited texting whenever something comes up.
Our Philosophy:
Let Teens Take the Lead
Teens have a psychological need to establish independence, which sometimes makes them push away from what their parents say and do. This can be frustrating, but it’s also completely normal.
That’s why at Appa, we make teens a part of the decision making process. We consult with teens before the program starts to make sure that they are open to participating, and we encourage them to choose their own mentor. Teens even get to choose when they meet with their mentor.
Mentorship works best when teens don’t feel pressured and are able to freely make choices about the kind of support and guidance they want. When we give teens the freedom to choose, the vast majority of teens want to show up for their mentors.
