Appa is $50 per week. If the mentor match isn’t right, Appa will completely refund your first week.

At Appa, we work with your teen directly to help them get set up. That means:
You don’t need to “convince” your teen to enroll
You don’t need to schedule appointments
You don’t need to fill out any additional forms after you sign up

We think that all teens can benefit from having a trusted adult mentor in their life. But in particular, we find that teens who are struggling with school stress, social anxiety, low mood, lot motivation, and problems at home can benefit greatly from Appa’s program.

Appa’s mentors are highly vetted young adults with degrees in psychology or social work who are supervised by a team of licensed therapists. Just as importantly, all of our mentors are fun and engaging people to talk to. They specialize in quickly building trust and acting as positive role models for teens.

Of course! In fact, Appa can work as a great supplement to traditional therapy. The goal of mentors is to help teens feel understood and heard through meaningful relationships. Mentors are also able to share their own experiences in a way that creates an experience that is very different from therapy.

Appa’s curriculum teaches skills from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Social Emotional Learning. These include how to problem solve, understand unhelpful cognitive biases, and think critically about thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.

After you sign up, we take the lead to make enrollment easy. We will reach out to your teen directly and help them get started and choose a mentor. You will not be charged unless your teen chooses and has their first video session with their mentor.

In the rare case of a fit that isn’t quite right, we will rematch your teen and refund the first session.
